About Us
Who Are We at Mayenjane Trust
Mayenjane Trust UK was founded by Barrie and Jean Jennings after many years working in Eswatini alongside Christian Family Church. What began as a response to deep community need has grown into a mission rooted in love, faith, and long-term impact. Their work has since been strengthened by their daughter, Lisa Jody, who plays an active role in helping shape and grow the charity’s future.
During their time in Eswatini, Barrie and Jean witnessed first-hand the profound challenges faced by many vulnerable children particularly those without consistent family support or access to life’s basic needs. Moved by compassion, they felt called to create stable, loving homes and care environments where children could feel safe, nurtured, and supported.
Working closely with CFC in Eswatini and with land donated by the village chief, the foundations were laid for Mayenjane’s first children’s home. Through faithful partnership and generous support from donors in New Life Church, UK and around the world, this vision became a reality.
Today, Building Homes, Changing Lives remains at the heart of everything we do.
Our first home is in eastern Eswatini, in the Lowveld region of Lubombo. The Mayenjane community now includes a children’s home, a church, a pre-school, and a feeding centre that supports both resident children and children from the surrounding local community.
Through love, integrity, and partnership, Mayenjane Foundation Trust continues to work toward a future where every child has the opportunity to thrive.
Vision
To build a nurturing community of children’s homes and care centres in Eswatini that transform the lives of abandoned and vulnerable children by providing nutrition, education, life-tools, and inspiration to break the cycle of poverty and create lasting change for future generations.
